Steven and I are at a beach pretty much every day. If we’re at work, it’ll be a quick walk at Tynemouth, the Fish Quay or Cullercoats with the dog when we finish. If we’re off, we’ll drive further afield and visit somewhere like Alnmouth or Cresswell. During these walks I have a habit of picking up bits of interesting driftwood and propping them around the house. Today I thought I’d document my favourite pieces. Hopefully I’ll keep up with this and eventually end up with a full series.
The Dip
This years Boxing Day dip into the North Sea, from Tynemouth beach. See last year’s post here. Always good fun to watch, and at least one of my feet accidentally takes part every year.
These Days
These days have been lots of time spent at home. Painting, decorating, chopping firewood and just enjoying the new space. This house feels like a proper home, and for the first time I really appreciate just spending the day in the house, doing some random task like painting kitchen tiles (always lots of mess, see second photo).
The latest coastal walks. The fish quay, Whitley Bay, and Alnmouth, We haven’t been going too far lately, being content to just wander round our regular haunts. We’re saving the big exploring and proper road trips for next year.
