The first week in our new spot was spent organising the caravan (everything we own had been very much just shoved into the Volvo), making the space a little more efficient, exploring our immediate surroundings and just relaxing. Like bloody hell, what another rollercoaster of a month. Getting here and finding a tiny loch behind the pitch, and the best beach I’ve ever seen on the other side, was such a relief.
We’re counting ourselves lucky to be on Skye, but have a quiet spot to hide away at, especially during the busy summer months. Fox hasn’t spent this much time outdoors since he was a puppy, living on a campsite in the Cairngorms. He’s went straight back into full feral dog mode, digging holes and chewing sticks, and has even learned how to walk across cattle grids effortlessly.
