I’m usually not a fan of photographing anything that I can google and see a hundred versions of the same scene, or shooting in blazing broad daylight… but it felt a bit criminal to drive the Bealach na Bà and not take a shot. If my researching skills are correct, it has the steepest ascent of any road in the UK, paired with pretty epic scenery and a remote location… so it’s not exactly a road you drive often. Unless you live in Applecross of course.
Steven and I once accidentally drove hardknott pass in torrential rain in a fiat panda (we thought it was a shortcut to the coffee shop) and driving the Bealach na Bà is the only road that’s felt as challenging, and has made my ass clench in a similar fashion.
