JOURNAL

Blacksmith - Stephen Lunn

Driving home from Craster after a walk with the dog, we took some back roads to see if we’d stumble upon anything interesting. We actually struck gold… first finding the Broomhill water tower (journal post here), then driving a little further and spotting this Blacksmiths. We knocked on the door and at risk of disturbing his work, thought we’d say hi and ask if I could take some photos. We got a full tour of all the buildings, saw some amazing cars and vans and got a preview of some of his works in progress. A very talented, mega friendly guy… it was a pleasure to meet Stephen Lunn. See his work here!

Broomhill Water Tower

A disused water tower in Broomhill, Northumberland. Auctioned off in 2010 by Northumbrian Water, it sold for £15,000, it was set to be turned into a 5 bedroom home by the buyer but I can't find any more information on it since then. As you can see, there is definitely nobody living there. I had a wander around the vicinity of the tower too and found some of the most interesting outhouses I've come across and one or two other empty buildings.
